Post #1: Why I Read

Why do I read? I read because when I am all snuggled in a comfy chair, in my bed, on the couch, or on the beach I am able escape reality and go into this other world. I like that I get to make up what each of the characters look like and I can interpret the book however I want. The way the author portrays characters and places can take you pretty much anywhere within a story. I like to read when I am stressed out or when I am upset about something because reading helps take my mind off of whatever it is that is bugging me. I love the way that a book can suck you in and time passes so quickly and you just keep turning page after page and before you know it it’s midnight and you have to get up at 6 o’clock the next morning for school. But you don't care because Sofia and Luke just went on their first date and he kissed her goodnight, and it was just perfect! I especially love to read books with movies. I like to read the book first and then go and watch the movie and see if how I pictured the movie is the same as the author wanted me too. I think it is fun to see which actors are playing the characters in the book. Reading is my way to run away from reality, like dreaming with your eyes open.
